THE HUNTS

An Outdoorsman’s life is a series of Expeditions.  If your hunting plans include Trophy Desert Bighorn Sheep, Desert Mule Deer, Coues Whitetail Deer or Dove; 21Expeditions and El Puerto Outfitters would be honored to provide you with the experience of a lifetime.

DESERT BIGHORN SHEEP

“There is no half way. After his first exposure, a man is either a sheep hunter or he isn’t. He either falls under the spell of sheep hunting and sheep country or he won’t be caught dead on another sheep mountain.”–  “The Bighorn March 1960 – Jack O’Connor

Considered the jewel of the “Sonoran Grand Slam”, the Desert Bighorn Sheep is a true challenge given its propensity to thrive in the most rugged, in-hospitable locations imaginable.

DESERT MULE DEER

“When his great sensitive ears – probably the best belonging to any game animal – warn him of the approach of lion, tigre or man, he slips off as soundlessly as a grey ghost.  When eddying currents of air bring him hostile scent close at hand, he goes off in the great flying bounds that carry him twenty feet at a jump” –“Game in the Desert” – Jack O’Connor

COUES WHITETAIL DEER

“Most intelligent game animal I have ever run into on this side of the world is the pint-sized Coues deer, also known as the Arizona whitetail.  He’s a little guy, about half as large as the Mule deer he often ranges with.  He is, on the other hand, about five times as smart as the mule deer.  The little rascal makes up his mind quickly and cooly gambles with his life.” – “Portrait of the Arizona Coues Deer” – Jack O’Connor

DOVE

“The sight of a man or the gleam of a gun barrel will make them twist and dodge until hitting them requires both skill and inspiration.  Many a time I have flocks pass so close to me and so fast that I could hear them cut the air like 75mm shells.” –“Game in the Desert” – Jack O’Connor
